The Christmas period started to take it's toll on selection as many of the usual faces were not available to play in this friendly fixture.
Skipper Andy Gill managed, however, to cobble together a side which included First XV lock Dom Bell and his bright white boots at inside centre, a few of our U21s back for chrimbo, a couple of Dom's uni mates and a few old timers bringing the ballast.
Kingston were also understrength and short of a couple of players including a prop. With the Spartans fielding messers Anderson and Carson in the front row, it made sense for stalwart second row Pembers to prop for K's and give Anderson and Carson their platform for punishment.
It all gets a bit blurry from here on in really. Walcountians started on the front foot and never really looked back. Every player made in roads with ball in hand and off loading out of the tackle stretched the K's defence even further. With 10 tries shared around and everyone having moments of excellence it's difficult to single anyone out, however, Simmo's epic knock on from a kick off was particularly enjoyable!
A great effort form all involved especially our opponents Kingston who, whilst ultimately outgunned, never gave up and helped ensure that all 30 guys got to stretch their legs before Christmas.
